Business Retention & Expansion Program

Business Retention & Expansion Program

Purdue Extension offers the Business Retention & Expansion Program (BR&E) to Stage 1 and Stage 2 companies as a method to help Indiana communities understand local business needs and respond, so that businesses grow, stay and become more committed to the community. Purdue Extension’s BR&E Program gets integrated into the community and more involved in comprehensive strategy development at the local and regional level to assist and assess company and community needs.

Creating a Regional Entrepreneurship System Together

Creating a Regional Entrepreneurship System Together

Entrepreneurship development is an elusive concept for many community leaders who have traditionally relied upon recruitment as their primary economic development strategy. The purpose of the Creating a Regional Entrepreneurial System Together (CREST) program is to assist targeted communities and regions in transforming their economies through the development of key components required for a high quality environment for entrepreneurship. CREST provides a framework for communities to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship that will permeate all the elements that contribute to a community’s quality of life.

Stronger Economies Together

Stronger Economies Together

Stronger Economies Together (SET) empowers communities and counties in rural America to work together in developing and implementing an economic development blueprint for their multi-county region that strategically builds on the current and emerging economic strengths of that region. Creating, attracting and retaining jobs as a single rural county in isolation from other nearby counties is becoming increasingly ineffective. In today’s global marketplace, economic development progress is more likely to be realized when rural and metro counties work together as a region to assess their resources and then design and implement plans that build on their assets and comparative economic strengths.
